Star-Lord (T'Challa) is a version of the character existing within the Marvel Cinematic Universe's multiverse, specifically introduced in the animated series "What If...?" (2021). This alternate reality showcases T'Challa, traditionally known as Black Panther, taking on the mantle of Star-Lord.
In this reality, instead of Peter Quill being abducted by Yondu Udonta and the Ravagers, it was T'Challa who was mistakenly taken from Wakanda. Consequently, T'Challa embraced the identity of Star-Lord, becoming a renowned intergalactic hero. He still becomes a hero like his Black Panther persona, however his skills are now honed through dealing with outer space.
His first appearance was in "What If...?" Season 1, Episode 2, "What If... T'Challa Became a Star-Lord?". This version of T'Challa retains his inherent nobility and strategic mind, but wields those traits in a vastly different cosmic setting, contrasting with his more familiar role as the King of Wakanda.
